Thanks to affirmative action, a whopping half of all UCLA medical students fail basic medical examinations. Thanks to “candidate pool expansions” the most important jobs are now being given to people who simply aren’t qualified for them, but because of “diversity equity, and inclusion” (DEI) they’re getting a free pass. This phenomenon is happening across many universities, but the recent outcomes at the University of California are troubling.
As one professor from UCLA explained, “I have students on their rotation who don’t know anything. People get in and they struggle.” Students can’t identify arteries in the body, yet they’re expected to do major surgeries upon graduation.
Formerly One of the Best Medical Schools Now Home to Mediocrity
UCLA’s medical school has dropped from 6th in the nation to 18th in rank.
What was once considered one of the best medical schools in the world is now a gathering for the patently stupid. The Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine receives 14,000 applicants annually, but in 2023, the school accepted 1.3 percent of all students with a mean GPA of 3.8 and an MCAT score in the 88th percentile. The school no longer attracts the cream of the crop, but due to DEI, accepts a more varied pool of students with lower academic prowess. The results are devastating, and we’re only beginning to see the downwind effects of these policies.
What’s more, Affirmative Action has been illegal in California since 1996, but Governor Newsom, and others at universities across the US practice DEI anyway. A recent quote from Newsom, kowtowing to his shrinking voting base:
“In California, we recognize that our incredible diversity is the foundation for our state’s strength, growth and success – and that confronting inequality is not just a moral imperative, but an economic one,” said Governor Newsom. “Our state has made great strides in redressing historic wrongs and stubborn disparities, but we know that much work remains to tackle the barriers that hold back too many Californians and undermine our collective prosperity. California won’t shy away from this challenge – with today’s action, our state is doubling down on the ongoing work to make the California Dream a reality for every one of us.”
The Supreme Court recently halted Affirmative Action after decades of it being in place, largely due to concerns that it was eroding the quality of our institutions, and also harming the very individuals it was meant to protect. In the unprecedented case, a vote of 6 to 3 regarding the University of North Carolina and a vote of 6 to 2 in a case at Harvard ended Affirmative Action.
In Texas, black professors explain that DEI is eroding American ideals and limiting free speech. This failed “equity model” is hammering the very same black population it has claimed to benefit. It creates people who have lower standards for quality and success and thus handicaps them for the duration of their careers. As in the case of UCLA medical students, there are also harmful impacts on society on a larger scale.
If multiple generations of DEI students are let loose in the workforce without basic qualifications, we end up with a purposefully dumbed-down population and a dunderheaded workforce. This causes secondary effects that can even include loss of life.
Demonization of the White Man is Harming Society as a Whole
Certain political figures have been quick to try to polarize racial discussions and cause us to fear white men. Others, like Candace Owens who is of mixed race, and has mixed-race children, tend to speak of the inequalities that affect all spectrums of race while pointing out that white men should not be the next racist target.
And it seems clear that movements like BLM were funded largely by George Soros to foment additional strife between races while distracting us from the heinous acts our own government continues to perpetuate.
It’s not just the white-collar jobs that are affected by the DEI idiocy. White shaming is harming the fabric of our workforce across many echelons. Some African Americans are even saying that we need white people more than ever, since they are the only ones who build anything in this country. This preacher says the same. White men work two jobs to build million-dollar mansions. They do some of the dirtiest work there is, like offshore oil rigging, digging ditches, and a thousand other jobs that many people wouldn’t be bothered with.
The True Cost of DEI
When doctors aren’t even qualified to doctor anymore, something’s got to give. While the medical field is not the only one affected by backward DEI and Affirmative Action policies, the time is now to value excellence, hard work, and intelligence above someone’s entitled placement based on race. Our nation has suffered enough.
This just confirms what my ex-husband, who is a practicing physician, has been saying for the last 5 years. He’s 71, in a surgical specialty, and used to welcome young doctors into his practice because he loves to mentor and support them. He’s stopped doing this because their lack of basic knowledge is evident. His biggest complaint is they don’t know anatomy and they’ve been taught to treat symptoms and not the root causes. He won’t retire because he’s worried about the care his patients will receive. Personally, I won’t see any doctor under the age of 45, and then only after vetting them heavily. (You CAN interview and fire a doctor if all he wants to do is push drugs on you. Doctors are your employee, you pay for them!)
Diversity hires are a secondary problem to medicine. Under Obamacare health insurance-for-profit was mandated by law. Most doctors don't doctor because the computer tells them what maximizes the profits. Doctors who don't comply with computerized edicts are fired. Seek alternative medicine when necessary and take care of yourself.
